Overview
Derwent Inktense pencils are versatile watersoluble pencils that create ink-like properties when combined with water. Once dried, Inktense is permanent and can be worked over without affecting the previous layer. Derwent Inktense pencils are suitable for working on traditional paper and canvas substrates as well as fabric such as silk and cotton.
You can use Derwent Inktense pencils dry as well as mix them with water. When mixed with water the color turns into vibrant ink. You can use Inktense to write with the pencil and flood the area with water, or wet the pencil and write with that directly.
Inktense allows you to create mark variations based on the intensity of different shades, as well as providing blending opportunities and the ability to create gradients.
Inktense has the same properties as ink only in a solid form which means you don’t need to carry around ink bottles if you are traveling while creating your art.
Inktense pencils are available in several different forms including, blocks, pencils, or pans. Inktense products are similar in application to watercolors but have the same color intensity as inks.
